Like an old shoe

I know that it's been forever since I have blogged on this thing. If I put enough things of interest here then this would be as popular as the weblogs people look at to get their news.

You know they had a blog party on election night on CNN? All it showed were some of the country's top bloggers clicking away on their computers. Are you serious? Are you saying this is something that I want to see AND is also newsworthy? You bet. Douchbags.

Today I was driving to a meeting at MTSU and saw something really weird. There is a "double light" traffic light on Old Hickory where there are two traffic lights about 6 feet apart for god knows what reason. There is a continuous turn lane all down this part of Old Lickery but between these lights it's just kinda yellowed out and no one drives there.

Until today.

The first thing I saw was a police motorcycle flashing lights parked there and the accompanying officer. He was standing there looking at something on the ground. And then I saw it. There was a 2 foot tall hawk standing there in the middle of the yellow area facing my side of traffic. He wasn't doing a fucking thing. Just sitting there - he could have been the buddha for all I know. And the cop was parked next to him and was just standing there looking down at him. I drove past the hawk close enough to touch him and he looked up like, "what?".

Indeed. I wish I got a pic of it, but I think there may be an artist's rendering in the near future. It was the weirdest fucking thing I ever saw.
